Indian envoy Sood calls on Prime Minister
Newly appointed Indian ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood called on Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and discussed the post-election political scenario in Nepal and other issues of bilateral concern.
Nepal's ongoing peace process and Indian assistance to Nepal in the coming days also featured primarily in the meeting held at the Prime Minister's Baluwatar residence, it is said.
This is his first meeting with any senior political leader since his arrival in Nepal, on Thursday, to take up his duty.
Sood, who replaced ambassador Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, is yet to present his credentials to the Prime Minister who also acts as the head of the state.
The Indian ambassador is set to hold a series of meetings with senior political leaders in the next few days, sources said. nepalnews.com mk Apr 26 08
