The 18th meeting of the Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) Central Committee
started at the party headquarters in Balkhu from Sunday.
The meeting will discuss the party's recent electoral defeat and evaluate
party's weaknesses, UML leaders said.
The meeting will also take up the resignation put forth by Madhav Kumar
Nepal from the position of general secretary following the electoral loss.
The meeting assumes crucial significance as it comes amid preparations to
form next government. Apart from discussing the holding of the party's
eighth general convention, the meeting will also decide whether UML should
be a part of next government or not, leaders said.
Acting general secretary Amrit Kumar Bohara will present 10-page political
report at the CC meeting.
The agenda of the CC meeting had been finalised by the UML standing
committee meeting held on Saturday. nepalnews.com sd Apr 27 08
