Nepalnews barred from covering news
Trivuban International Airport (TIA) authority has barred Nepalnews reporters from entering the TIA premises when they were heading there to cover a news about the arrival of Nepali team returning back from Patna of the Indian state of Bihar after participating in a seminar on Nepal-India relation in the changed context.
Despite repeated requests, the police at the gate didn't allow Nepalnews correspondent to enter into the TIA premises saying that they were asked to block press from entering inside the premises. The reporters were barred although the police were shown valid press card issued by Department of Information (DOI).
On the contrary, some journalists were however, allowed to go inside. The incident took place even as Minister for Information and Communnication Krishna Bahadur Mahara promised to implement the Right to Information Act strictly in a program organised by Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ), Kathmandu branch on his honour at the DOI. nepalnews.com ps 27 08
