Karki elected WHF president
Hem Bahadur Karki has been elected president of the World Hindu Federation
(WHF) in the general convention of the federation held in Tulsipur of
India from April 25 to 27.
Before being elected president, Karki, a retired Colonel of Nepal Army,
was the general secretary of the WHF. He replaces Bharat Keshar Singh, a
close aide of King Gyanendra.
Religious leaders from Nepal and India and representatives of Indian Hindu
fundamentalist political outfits had participated in the general
convention.
Some of the participants had even called for retaining monarchy in Nepal
