Ex-king Gyanendra writing autobiography

With loads of free time at his disposal while he lives a solitary life in the idyllic and sylvan surroundings of Nagarjun, ex-king Gyanendra is doing what many deposed leaders like him do - turn to writing.

Ex-king Gyanendra.

The last Shah king, who is very much inclined towards poetry, is penning down his autobiography, according to a Nepali vernacular weekly, and this as the country gets ushered into a new era with his former nemesis Pushpa Kamal Dahal taking over the reigns of power as the first Prime Minister of the republic Nepal.

Citing a source, the report said that the autobiography will be in English language and divided into five sections, including the former monarch's childhood, his rise as the king following the royal massacre, and the ignominious fall of the monarchy.

The report further added that the former monarch spends hours behind his PC everyday to finish his autobiography, which if published, will also be his first book. Other time passing technique includes reading books, watching local television programs and going on morning and evening walks with his body guards.

Before being forced to relinquish absolute powers in 2006, he had gone into a sort of depression, with reports claiming that he spends all night awake playing online gambling on his computer. nepalnews.com Aug 19 08
