A faction of split-ridden Nepal Sadbhavana Party (NSP-Anandidevi) led by Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Shyam Sundar Gupta has decided to remain in the seven party alliance and the government for the purpose of establishing durable peace and federal democratic republic through Constituent Assembly (CA) election.

The meeting of the party had delegated the authority of preparing closed-list of candidates for proportional representation-based election and direct election to party general secretary Minister Gupta.

The meeting was chaired by its senior leader Bhogendra Thakur.

According to a statement issued by party spokesperson Sarita Giri, the meeting had to be held despite absence of party chairperson Anandidevi Singh as the party needed to make important decisions to abide by the Election Commission’s directives.

The party has also welcomed EC’s decision to recognise their faction.

Meanwhile, the dissident faction of the NSP-Anandidevi led by Khusilal Mandal has warned of agitation. It has accused Gupta of working against party chairperson’s directives. nepalnews.com sd Feb 15 08
