Bear loosens its grip on NEPSE
Bear slightly loosened its grip on the country's capital market as the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 19.5 points over the week, recovering from weeks of steady decline.
The NEPSE index opened at 776.74 points on Sunday to close at 795.89 pints on Thursday, the last day of stock trading. The weeks total turnover was Rs 828 million rupees.
Trade analysts said investors had a good week as they found shares cheaper to buy because of rapid fall in the prices over the week.
Group wise share trading data shows that commercial banks, manufacturing groups and hydropower sector were among the gainers this week with steady rise in their index while development banks suffered a heavy loss. nepalnews.com ag Feb 17 08
