RJP to boycott CA election
In a sudden turn of events, the Rastriya Janashakti Party (RJP) has announced that it would boycott the election for Constituent Assembly (CA) scheduled for April 10.
The meeting of the central executive committee of the party held on Tuesday decided to boycott the CA election pointing at the situation in Madhes.
The RJP is led by former prime minister and senior politician Surya Bahadur Thapa.
The RJP's decision to boycott the polls has come just ahead of the Election Commission's deadline (Wednesday) of filing closed-list of candidates for proportional representation-based election.
A few days earlier, Green Nepal Party led by Kuber Sharma too had announced to boycott the April election demanding neutral government to hold the polls. nepalnews.com sd Feb 19 08
