Fuel regulation comes into effect from today
The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) fuel regulation comes into effect from Monday as per which consumers owning vehicles with odd number license plate can get petrol from 27 major refilling stations and diesel from separate 34 refilling stations in the valley.
According to reports, petrol stations in Bhadrakali, Pulchowk, Naxal, Lagankhel, Dhapasi, Chauni, Thimi and Lagankhel, among others, will cater to motor-bikes only, whereas dealers in Gyaneshwor and Tripureshwor will be supplying fuel to private cars and dealers in Naikap, Bouddha and Kalimati will distribute fuel to taxis.
The Supplies Committee formed to regulate distribution of petroleum products on Wednesday had asked NOC to distribute 150 kiloliters (KL) of petrol and 180 KL diesel to them by Monday, reports said. Similarly, the Committee also fixed the fuel ceiling for motorbikes, private vehicles, taxis and passenger vehicles. As per it, bikes would receive petrol worth Rs 500, private vehicles would receive petrol worth Rs 800 and taxis and passenger vehicles worth Rs 1500.
Similarly, it has also instructed dealers not to distribute more than Rs 1000 worth of diesel to private and school vehicles, and capped petrol receipt quantity to Rs 2000 for public transportation and Rs 3000 for long route buses. nepalnews.com ag Feb 25 08
