Yadav says his party is game for electoral alliance
A day after the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) withdrew its agitation and declared to contest the April election by signing a deal with the government, Upendra Yadav, coordinator of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) – a constituent of UDMF - has said that his party is willing for striking electoral alliance in the region.
“We think electoral alliance is a possibility,” Yadav told Kantipur FM, adding that such alliance can be explored within UDMF and also with other parties. He did not elaborate.
Meanwhile, Yadav said that though they would have wanted more time to prepare for their nomination papers, they would anyway take part in the election.
The EC has fixed March 2 for filing of closed list for proportional representation based election and March 6 for filing nomination papers for direct election. nepalnews.com sd Feb 29 08
