PM nominates three NC MPs

Prime Minister and president of Nepali Congress (NC) Girija Prasad Koirala has nominated three MPs from his party to fill the vacancies in the parliament.

PM Koirala has nominated Nagendra Jha, Laxman Raya Yadav and Rishikesh Tiwari as MPs to represent Sarlahi, Saptari and Parbat districts, respectively.

The three positions had become vacant after two NC MPs resigned and one passed away.

Mahantha Thakur and Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta resigned from their positions from Sarlahi and Saptari districts, respectively. Thakur floated a separate Terai Madhes Democratic Party while Gupta joined Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF).

The party's MP from Parbat district Dilli Prasad Sharma had passed away a couple of months ago. nepalnews.com sd Jan 08 08
