Prime Minister expands cabinet

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today expanded the cabinet, inducting three ministers and five state ministers.

Koirala nominated his daughter Sujata Koirala as minister without portfolio while NC leader Farmulla Mansoor was nominated as minister for science and technology. Minister of state for general administration Ram Chandra Yadav was promoted to full minister with the same portfolio.

Sujata will also be overseeing matters with the PMO, it is learnt.

Likewise, NC leaders Ram Kumar Chaudhary and Dina Upadhyaya Aryal have been nominated as state ministers for home and water resource ministries respectively.

Koirala appointed UML leader Nagendra Choudhary as minister of state for culture, tourism and civil aviation and two Maoist nominees, Padam Rai and Nabin Kumar B.K, as minister of state for physical planning and works and minister of state for local development respectively.
