NEPSE sheds 7 points
Resuming transaction after a week of disturbance caused by the introduction of policy banning margin lending, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) fell by 7.21 points this week.
According to NEPSE, its index opened at 988.64 points at the start of the week and ended at 981.43 points on Thursday, the last day of stock trading. The total turnover stood at Rs 1.41 billion, with 683,141 unit of shares having changed hands in the bourse this week.
As a corrective measure, the Nepal Rastra Bank had banned margin lending - loans against shares - for a month, following consultation with NEPSE, Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) and Ministry of Finance. nepalnews.com ag Jan 13 08
