Thirteen more parties apply for registration
The Election Commission (EC) has informed that thirteen more parties have applied for registration for the purpose of coming Constituent Assembly (CA) election.
In a statement issued by the EC, it is informed that the decision on their registration will be taken by January 29.
The parties that have applied for registration include Terai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) led by Mahantha Thakur, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum led by Bhagya Nath Shah, and Chure Bhawar Rastriya Ekata Party led by Keshab Prasad Mainali.
Other applicants include Mangol National Organisation of Gopal Gurung, Nepal Samyabadi Dal of Rabindra Kumar Basnet, Nepal Parivar Dal of Binod Dangi , Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Manch of Kamal Chharahang , Nepa Rastriya Party of Keshab Man Shakya , Nepal Loktantrik Samajbadi Dal of Upendra Gachhedar , Nepal Sukumbasi Abyabasthit Party (Loktantrik) of Buddhiman Dausi, Nepal Dalit Shramik Manch of Rabindra Bahadur Sunar, Tamsaling Nepal Rastriya Dal of Parasuram Tamang and Nava Nepal Prajatantrik Dal headed by Kuber Bahadur Raut .
The EC had extended the deadline for applying for registration till January 14 after the election for CA was postponed for April.
The EC, which unveiled the constituent assembly election programme on Sunday, had earlier registered 61 political parties and had given them their election symbols. nepalnews.com sd/mk Jan 14 08
