Maoist chairman Prachanda has predicted a very difficult time for Nepal during the next three months – until the constituent assembly polls are held.
At a press conference held in Kathmandu, Friday, Prachanda, giving instance of the murder of Pakistani leader Benazir Bhutto, said some groups might attempt murder of senior leaders to set the stage for what he called as a 'democratic coup.'
Prachanda said the coup would be like that in Bangladesh where military force has backed the civilian government.
He further said his party will return all the land seized by the party during the war to the original owners within this month.
He also said his party would work whole-heartedly to help return of all those who have been displaced during the period of insurgency for which he said the party cadres have been given instruction.
Prachanda informed that he would contest for the constituent assembly election from Kathmandu and Rolpa. nepalnews.com ia Jan 18 08
