Mahato 'quits' parliament
Sadbhawana Party chairman Rajendra Mahato has announced his resignation form the interim parliament.
Addressing a mass meeting organised by United Madhesi Front, the alliance of his party and Upendra Yadav’s Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) in Lahan on Saturday, Mahato said he was quitting the parliament because it had lost its meaning.
He said the parliament as well as the government had turned a dear ear to the demands of Madhesi people despite their relentless pressure by means of protests.
Mahato had severed ties with Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandi Devi) following internal dispute and had formed the Sadbhawana Party a couple of months ago. nepalews.com mk Jan 19 08
