Three youths murdered after abduction in Siraha; two shot dead in Mugu
Three youths, who were abducted from Bishnupura VDC in Siraha district four days ago, were found dead on Wednesday.
Police found the dead bodies of Ram Ekwal Yadav, Satya Narayan Yadav and Nem Kumar Thakur buried on the banks of Kamala Khola, reports said. They were abducted by an “unidentified gang” on Saturday.
According to police Superintendent Harish Chandra Adhikari, the condition of the dead bodies showed that they might have been killed 2-3 days earlier. The dead bodies had multiple cuts.
Reports said the three youths were Nepali Congress activists. NC’s Siraha district committee has accused a local leader of Maoist-aligned Young Communist League (YCL), Dev Saran Yadav, for the abduction and murder of its cadres while the latter has denied the charge.
The motive behind their abduction and subsequent murder remains unclear. The police said they had launched a massive manhunt for the killers.
Meanwhile, in Mugu, two persons have been killed by unidentified gunmen.
Surendra B.K, an assistant health worker and district president of Nepal Civil Servants Association, and Hira Singh Karki, chairman of the management committee of Mahadev Secondary School, were shot dead last evening at Koredanda.
There were no clues as to who killed them and why. nepalnews.com mk Jan 23 08
