CA proceedings disrupted again
With leaders of major parties failing to forge consensus on the Terai parties' demands, the Constitution Assembly (CA) meeting has been disrupted once again.
CA members from Terai parties came to the rostrum and started chanting slogans as soon as the session began at around 3:15 pm today, forcing the Assembly to adjourn till 11:00 am Friday.
This was the sixth time in a row the Terai parties disrupted the CA proceeding.
The stalemate continued even as the some leaders claimed that a solution was likely to come today.
At a meeting with leaders Madhesi Janadhikar Forum earlier today, the CPN Maoist leadership agreed to include a phrase "Madhesh as autonomous region" in the supplementary constitution amendment bill to be presented before the CA for endorsement.
