Khanal predicts ten more days for formation of new government
The general secretary of Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) Jhalnath Khanal has predicted it would take ten more days for the formation of new government.
Speaking at a programme, on delay in government formation, organised by South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA), Thursday, Khanal said that it will take ten days to form the new government even if the current political deadlock is resolved quickly, according to Kantipur Television.
"We cordially request the three parties of Madhes to allow the resumption of Constituent Assembly meeting where they are free to put any issue they like for discussion," he said.
Nearly three months have passed since the April 10 election of Constituent Assembly (CA). But the new government has not yet been formed.
The Maoists who emerged as the largest party in the election have been poised to take over the mantle of Singhdurbar.
However, the issues of power-sharing and constitution amendment first stalled its path towards power. In recent days, however, the obstruction of CA meeting by Madhesi parties have delayed the formation of new government. nepalnews.com sd Jul 03 08
