Online radio Himali Swarharu marks first anniversary

Himali Swarharu (Himalayan Voices, nepaliradionyc.com), with the theme 'Nepali Man Ra Nepali Pan Sanga Najik...', a New York based online radio produced and managed by a Nepali theatre artist and radio journalist Sahadev Poudel, has completed one year of online radio broadcasting.

In the beginning, the program ran just for 30 minutes. However, after a month, it was extended to 45 minutes with some added segments. Then during the one year period, more segments were added as follows:

SeRo FeRo is a weekly world news bulletin that also features interaction on current topics on Nepal, Nepali Diaspora in the US among others.

Ratna Park & Haat Bazaar is a community information and event center with free community info on events and also information regarding jobs and apartments which also airs Nepali community's voices and interviews.

Jeeban Yatra Anubhab is an audio life story of experienced and senior Nepali citizens living in the US or any other county for a long time or a person who has contributed to the Nepali community; personalities like Kul Chandra Gautam, theatre actor Hari B Thapa, lawyer Khagendra GC have already shared their experiences. Currently, this segment is airing Doctor Rajendra Pradhan's life story.

Srijana Ka Swarharu, a literary presentation featuring poems, songs, in which more than 40 Nepali poets and lyricists have read out their creations till date.

Katha Sansar is a Nepali story telling presentation or Katha Bachan in Nepali.

On the first anniversary, a new program called Open Mike was added. In this unique segment, people from different nationalities and languages can record audio material which will be shared with the idea to start collecting and informing about other people's knowledge and impressions about Nepal.
