Parties scramble to find a presidential candidate

The leaders of Nepali Congress (NC), UML, Maoists as well as Madhesi parties are set to hold joint and separate meetings, Thursday.
Likewise, the Maoists and UML are holding their top level internal meetings to forge their strategies.
Meanwhile, as per the election schedule released by the Constituent Assembly (CA) secretariat, aspiring candidates (for president and vice president) need to file their nomination papers by 1 pm on Thursday.
The final list of the candidates will be published at 5 pm, Thursday.
The election will be held on Saturday. President and vice president will be elected by simple majority. nepalnews.com sd Jul 17 08
