Chand smells conspiracy in NC-UML-MJF alliance

A senior Maoist leader has said that the alliance among the Nepali Congress (NC), Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) is a result of conspiracy by foreign elements that do not want to see the Maoists in power.

Speaking at a programme in Birgunj, Saturday, Netra Bikram Chand, a member of central secretariat of the central committee of the Maoists, also warned that the peace process could end if efforts are made to elbow out the Maoists from power.

He also hinted of possibility of Maoists reverting to revolt in such case.

Chand also accused the UML of bargaining for Home Ministry, which he said disrupted the alliance between Maoists and UML. He also accused the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) of suspiciously opting out of alliance with Maoists. nepalnews.com sd Jul 19
