Four die in seperate accidents

Four persons died in separate road accidents in Palpa and Dhading districts late Sunday night.

Two persons died while two more were injured when the jeep they were traveling in met with an accident at a place called Siddhababa of Palpa along the Siddhartha Highway road section late last night.

The deceased have been identified as Pradip Karki, 25, of Taksar, Gulmi and jeep driver Raju Kumal, 25, of the same district.

The jeep with license plate no Lu 1 Ja 1199 had collided with a bus with license no Lu 1 Kha 4274 coming from the opposite direction, had skidded off the road and plunged into the Tinau river below. The injured are being treated at Lumbini Zonal Hospital, reports said.

High speed driving in the narrow road is said to be the main cause behind the accident.

Similarly, two persons who were injured in an accident that took place in Dhadingbesi of Dhading district have breathed their last while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital in Kathmandu late Sunday night.

The two women had suffered serious injuries when the micro-bus they were traveling in collided head on with a bus coming from the opposite direction at 2 pm Sunday.

Both the deceased are said to be middle-aged women, whose name and address have not been verified as yet, according to reports.

In another report, 5 persons were injured when the mini-bus they were traveling in met with an accident in Tanahun district yesterday night.

The bus was bound for Dumre of Tanahun from Besisahar of Lamjung.

Hom Bahadur Thapa, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, has been taken to Pokhara for treatment while others are being treated at the local health posts. nepalnews.com ag June 02 08
