Govt panel recommends 75-member security team for ex-King
The government committee entrusted to formulate security strategies for vacated Narayanhiti palace has recommended 75-member security team for former king Gyanendra.
Submitting its report to Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula Thursday during the meeting of Central Security Committee, the panel proposed 50 Armed Police Force (APF) personnel and 25 army men for Shah's security, whom the government has given Nagarjuna Palace for residence.
The committee headed by joint-secretary of the Home Ministry Mod Raj Dotel recommended that Armed Police Force (APF) team would take charge of the security of the former monarch and his family. Nepal Army will be assisting only when necessity.
For Nirmal Niwas, where his son Paras lives, the committee has recommended for 40 security personnel including Nepal Army and APF men. nepalnews.com ia June 05 08
