Factory worker shot dead

Cadres of Jwala Singh faction of Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM) gunned down one more worker with Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. in Simara of Bara district Wednesday night.

Lila Lamichhane, 35, who was returning home from work in his motorcycle, was shot dead by JTMM cadres near the Dudhaura river.

According to police, Lamichhane's body was found near the river. He was still wearing his motorcycle helmet.

Bikrant, who identified himself as JTMM's district secretary, called local media persons and owned up the responsibility for the killing but didn't state the motive behind it.

Eight years ago, Lila's brother and sister-in-law were killed in a security operation carried out in Bhiman of Makwanpur. Lila had been looking after their daughter since then. Lila is now survived by his wife, three children and 65-year-old mother.
