Parliament session underway
The sitting of the constituent assembly in the capacity of parliament has resumed in Kathmandu Thursday that will endorse the constitution amendment bill to be tabled by the government.
The government will table the Fifth Amendment bill, passed by the seven-party alliance Wednesday making major changes in the interim constitution.
The government had planned to introduce the bill on Wednesday but due to shortage of time, it was re-scheduled for today.
Speaking on the occasion, parliamentarians raised the issue of hike in POL price and transport fares, delay in formation of new government, and the SPA ignoring the other fringe parties in the parliament while taking major decisions, among others.
Madhesi MPs urged the government to withdraw the bill and come up with amendment bill that includes the agreement reached between the government and the madhesi parties earlier.
The sitting is still undergoing at the International Convention Centre (3:30 pm). nepalnews.com ia June 26 08
