The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) today unveiled its election manifesto which states that the party stands in favour of restructuring of the state with guarantee of 'inclusive multiparty democracy’.
RPP chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana unveiled the election manifesto during a news conference organised at the party’s central office, Chabahil. The manifesto states that the constitution to be drafted by the constituent assembly must guarantee fundamental rights of all the citizens.
The RPP manifesto also stresses that the state be restructured by ensuring fair representation of ethnic communities, Madhesis and people from different regions in the proposed ‘state restructuring commission’.
RPP chairman Rana said the fate of monarchy should be decided by the people and not by the parties, and described the declaration of the republic prior to the CA polls as an autocratic move of the seven-party alliance.
Saying that the RPP is against all kinds of dictatorships, Rana revealed that the party was in favour of Westminster-style parliamentary system with two houses of parliament at the centre.
Meanwhile, the CPN (Maoist) is on homework to publicise its election manifesto.
Maoist leader Dina Nath Sharma told reporters after a programme in the capital Tuesday that the party had already finalised the manifesto and that it would be publicised within two days. nepalnews.com mk Mar 05 08
