PM Koirala urges Terai armed outfits to accept agreement with Madhesi groups
Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has said that given the approaching election, the government will not lose any more time in holding dialogue with the armed outfits operating in Terai.
Speaking at a press meet in Biratnagar, Sunday afternoon, PM Koirala urged them to come under the umbrella of the agreement, which the government recently signed with agitating Madhesi groups.
"They are welcome to come to the mainstream. But the government will now act strongly to ensure law and order," he said.
Earlier in the morning, PM Koirala had instructed security officials to concentrate on providing security during the forthcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election.
In his interaction with chiefs of security bodies in the eastern town of Biratnagar, Sunday morning, PM Koirala urged them to ensure smooth election.
He instructed them to create such a situation where voters can cast their votes without feeling insecure.
PM Koirala will meet with his party workers and leaders, later on Sunday, to discuss about Congress preparation and position in the election.
PM Koirala is currently in his hometown of Biratnagar to attend to a wedding party of a son of his long-time associate Ram Dev Singh. He is expected to return to the capital on Monday. nepalnews.com sd Mar 09 08
