United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has expressed willingness to
come on a visit to Nepal during the Constituent Assembly election to
personally take stock of the ongoing peace process, according to Foreign
Minister Sahana Pradhan.
Talking to reporters at the VIP lounge of the Tribhuvan International
Airport upon returning from a week-long visit to Geneva where she attended
the seventh session of the UN Human Rights Council, Pradhan said that
during a meeting with her on the sidelines of the meeting Moon also
expressed satisfaction over the enabling atmosphere being gradually built
for Constituent Assembly election.
The Secretary General also promised that the UN would continue to extend
its assistance to make the election successful.
The current human rights situation of the country including and the direct
involvement of women in the peace process, among others, also featured
during the meeting, FM Pradhan said.
During her stay in Geneva she also held bilateral meetings with her
