Freedom Forum slams 'suppression' of Tibetan protestors
Freedom Forum has condemned the government's clamp down on the 'free Tibet' rally organized by Tibetan protestors and preventing them from submitting memorandum to the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.
Issuing a statement on Tuesday, the forum said, "The act of thwarting the rally and suppression meted out against protestors exercising their right to expression is condemnable."
The forum further said, "It is sheer violation of freedom of opinion and expression. Everyone has the right to exercise this freedom which includes freedom to hold opinions without interference."
Tibetan protestors and a few police personnel were injured in clashes at Chabahil and Boudhha in the capital Monday when the latter tried to block their march to the Chinese Embassy. nepalnews.com ag Mar 12 08
