Keshav Sthapit back in UML
Former mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Keshav Sthapit has rejoined the CPN (UML).
At a programme in the capital Sunday, UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal welcomed Sthapiti and two dozen others, who had defected to various parties in the past, to the party.
Speaking at the programme, Sthapit said it was his mistake to quit the UML, and expressed his resolve not to repeat it.
Sthapit, a colorful personality, had chaired the Praja Parishad, Nepal’s oldest political party, before rejoining the UML. He was appointed KMC mayor during the royal regime, but had quit the post owing to Maoist threats.
