Talking to journalists in Mahendranagar in Kanchanpur district, Monday, the former prime minister Deuba said he will be the successor of the prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala.

"The Maoists have projected Prachanda as next president. Our party Nepali Congress has stated in its manifesto that there will be powerful prime minister. I am going to be the future PM," he said.

He said that NC was committed to preparing a constitution that is democratic and inclusive.

Deuba has reached the far-western district to campaign for his candidacy from there. nepalnews.com sd Mar 18 08
