NC expels rebelling leaders, cadres
Nepali Congress has expelled rebellion leaders of the party who filed
their candidacy for the upcoming constituent assembly elections.
The party terminated the general membership of over 200 party leaders and
cadres including Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar. Gachchhadar had resigned from the
party and the parliament to join the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum.
He is contesting against Dr Shekhar Koirala in the polls.
NC's senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba had urged the rebellion leaders to
withdraw their candidacy and support the party for the polls. Some had
responded to the call positively.
The party also expelled those who supported the candidacy of the rebellion
leaders and are involved in their polls campaign.
