Police free two trucks seized by YCL, Butwal tense
Police have forcefully freed two trucks from Yogikuti area in Butwal at around 3:30 am on Tuesday morning from the clutches of Maoist-affiliated Young Communist League (YCL) cadres.
The YCL cadres had seized the trucks, Monday night, accusing that the government had brought in weapons from India unlawfully.
The Maoist team led by central leader Devendra Poudel and Bamdev Chhetri intercepted the two trucks that were coming from Sunauli border point. Chhetri said 38 such trucks had already made their way into Nepal.
The Armed Police Force (APF) officials have said the trucks carried logistic items only.
Meanwhile, the YCL cadres have burnt tyres and held protests in and around Butwal. Following the police intervention, the YCL has even burnt police posts. nepalnews.com sd Mar 25 08
