Tibetan exiles continue protest in Kathmandu; over 100 arrested
Over 100 Tibetan exiles were arrested from a demonstration in front of
Chinese Embassy's visa office in Kathmandu Monday afternoon, protesting
the recent crackdown on 'pro-impendence' agitators in Lhasa.
Police intervened into the demonstration as soon as it started in front
the visa office at Hattisar. The arrested Tibetans chanted "Free
Tibet" even as they were they bring driven to different police stations.
Police officials said they would be freed today itself.
Security had been stepped up in the area after some 200 Tibetans tried to
storm the visa office on Sunday.
Today's demonstration was in a series of protests by the Tibetans in
Kathmandu since March 10 when they marked the 49th year of the Dalai
