A disgruntled group inside the Nepal Sadbhawana Party-Anandidevi has demanded that Minister for Industries, Commerce and Supplies Shyam Sundar Gupta be immediately removed from his post.

Organizing a press conference in Kathmandu Thursday, Khushi Lal Mandal, the senior vice-chairman of NSP-A has accused Minister Gupta, who also holds the same post inside the party, of "abducting" party chairperson Anandi Devi Singh and has asked the Prime Minister not to tolerate him in the post even for a minute.

"An immoral, criminal person shouldn't be allowed to continue in the post," Mandal said.

Mandal said that although Prime Minister Koirala had assured that everything would be done to find Singh, the wife of late former chairman of NSP Gajendra Narayan Singh, nothing has been done towards that end. He said that he has been greatly distressed by this.

Yesterday, the Election Commission (EC) had recognized the list of winning candidates for proportional representation (PR) system submitted by the party Chairperson Anandi Devi Singh and rejected the list proposed by a group of the same party led by Minister Gupta. nepalnews.com ag May 08 08
