Chinese embassy angered by Tibetan protests
The Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu has expressed its rage over Tibetan "harassers" continuing their anti-China protests in Nepal even as the
country is engaged in efforts to fight against the deadly earthquake that
hit China on Monday.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday, the Embassy said while condolences
continued to pour in from Nepal government and Nepali society, "the
Tibetans, despite being Chinese, harassed Embassy staffers and severely
disturbed normal work".
"While the Chinese government and people in the earthquake-hit region are
making all-out efforts to fight against the disaster and participating in
relief and rescue efforts, these Tibetan "harassers" ignored the pain of
their compatriots and showed neither sympathy nor grief over the tragedy."
The Embassy also lambasted international human rights organizations for
their support for Tibetans protestors, saying that they are "disregarding
humanitarianism" by overtly supporting activities aimed at the independence
of Tibet. nepalnews.com ag May 15 08
