NC youths suspend 'youth gatherings,' vow to launch agitation against Maoists
The Nepali Congress (NC) youth leaders who had been holding a series of gatherings calling for change in the party leadership have decided to suspend them 'in view of impending Constituent Assembly meeting from May 28.'
However, the NC youths have said they would hold demonstrations against Maoist activities and in order to press for the fulfillment of seven conditions put forth by the party before lending support to forming of government led by the Maoists.
Issuing a statement, Monday evening, Gururaj Ghimire, chair of the committee that has been organizing such gatherings, said, "Because of the existing situation, all youth friends are requested to be organized against the Maoist activities and become ready to take any kind of step if needed."
Ghimire has said that the youths would be holding effective agitation against Maoist activities in Kathmandu in order to press them to accept the seven conditions, which include dissolution of YCL, among others.
