Prachanda says his party is willing to talk with kins of Shrestha; says agitation will mar preparation for republic
Maoist chairman Prachanda has said his party is willing to talk with the relatives of Ramhari Shrestha, who was killed by Maoists, to resolve the problem.
As Shrestha's relatives have called for valley bandh, which has been supported by various major parties, Prachanda issued a statement urging them to withdraw the bandh.
Prachanda has said that his party supports the relatives' demand for forming high level commission to probe the incident.
He has also urged not to politicise the issue.
In his statement, Prachanda has said that launching agitation at this juncture could affect the preparations for the implementation of republic
through the Constituent Assembly (CA) meeting, which is starting from May 28.
Relatives of Shrestha have been demanding public apology from Prachanda and have also demanded that commander of Chitwan camp of Maoist army, Bibidh, should be handed over to police for action. They accuse Bibidh of being responsible in Shrestha's killing who had been abducted and taken to Chitwan camp where he was killed. nepalnews.com sd May 21 08
