Wakeup O Ye in Slumber!

Niraj Aryal

Their throats are dried up, tired with their cries and the eyes are failing while waiting for their god. But the god seems to be unaware and continuously ignores.

For them just a question remains to be answered from their god. And continuously asking the same question but there is no response. Amid chaos and uncertainty and in the prevailing darkness the question itself echoes off the surrounding mountains and pretends to be a response from their god but this is just an illusion. But they continue to ask the same question, where the end is? When is the end to this continuous suffering?

Suddenly from the darkness, an enlightened one raises his voice while facing the North who urges, “Wakeup O Sleepers, this is not a tale from medieval times; we are living in a modern age!” Respect and be respected, he warns all while raising his voice.

In the death silence suddenly an onlooker hears people murmuring, asking questions among themselves, who is this person? A wounded one from the mass timely makes a comment, the savior has arrived, and he is here now to deliver us, he stresses.

But as they wake up in the morning nothing has changed, as there is no savior, this turns out to be another illusion. In the time of crisis illusion prevails all over. Perhaps people cannot decide whether it is really happening or is it just another delusion?

Let us term this background as a beginning of a dramatic plot, where the actors consists of the powerless, who never get tired of crying but are already dried up, still cannot stop waiting for their god and there are those who possesses power and have the ability to bring an end to the suffering but continuously ignore the suffering and in between there are those who take advantage of the darkness and add more hubbub to the already chaotic milieu.

Adding further a good dramatic plot or a cinematic plot always represents a real world situation or vice versa. And this situation represents a real suffering in the modern era, an era defined by an individual freedom to live, to talk and to behave in a civilized way. This is certainly lacking in this story. The sufferers just want to talk freely and want others to behave in a civilized way, but the god is not listening.

This story which is being called at the present time may still look unbelievable to the onlookers or may resemble to a story dragged from the medieval times or even look as a plot from a mythological story, but this is not true. And as it is happening, it is equally challenging the so-called civilized ones from its existence.

And now the onlooker hears..….people are raising their voice, throats are suddenly fresh and the eyes are raising and they ask the same question, where the end is and when is the end to this continuous suffering? But the god does not speak; perhaps he is waiting for more testing.
