With malice to none
Why my brilliant ideas are rejected every time?

N.P.UPADHYAYA

At times my dull brain even thinks of some brilliant ideas. However, the tragedy has been that neither the State, the civil society, the Nepali academia nor the political parties listen to my pulsating ideas which I consider if brought into practice would bring about miraculous changes in the country.

I recall long time back that I had proposed a hair-raising formulae in order to contain or even eliminate poverty from the country's soil. The idea no body liked for it had some violent ideas, as friends put it that time around.

The idea was to invite all the poverty stricken people to Katmandu and line them up at the Tundikhel open ground. After serving the meal to them all, the landmines so cleverly laid beneath their earth at the said open ground would be exploded thorough a remote control.

If there were no poor, automatically that would take care of the poverty factor thoroughly. This if brought into action would in all likelihood have saved enormous time and energy of the namesake National Planning Commission-the NPC. Finally it would have also pleased the international donors to divert their money in some other viable projects.

However, my idea was summarily rejected. I claim that the State by rejecting my proposal is suffering the worst still, which perhaps would continue for long time to come.

Though frustrated I am at the manner my first million-dollar worth proposal was denied an opportunity to try its luck, still I am here with yet another fresh proposal which equally is not an interesting one but should, I presume, be applauded by the political parties.

This time the proposal is while we will be having a new constitution as demanded by all the political parties including the rebels, I would suggest those engaged in the draft-works for a new constitutional order to add one clause in the legal document that "henceforth the State will make legal all the acts of stone pelting, destruction of the development infrastructures and government properties, burning of rubber tires and creating panic among the citizens.

In fact what we have been doing today under fear would be thoroughly legalized. When the new constitution will allow such things to happen in a legal way, the State will have not to worry about the happenings.

This will add to our glory and our constitution will be taken as the world's best constitution to have allowed such events to happen in a legal manner, which is what we want today.

Well if the drafters of the new legal code so desire, then they can insert in some of the clauses that the "people of Nepal henceforth possess only rights from the state and no duties for the state in return as a citizen of the state. This provision will be highly appreciated by the denizens of this country.
