Ascertain the personality who is selling national secrets?
N.P.UPADHYAYA
Nepal's academic sector apparently give an impression that they too understood that "some rotten eggs" were very much present in this society who have had more often than not sold "secrets" to some "selected" foreign countries and in lieu accepted or were provided financial assistances.
One such academician who has recently revealed that he in knowledge of some bad apples of the Nepali society who have had in the past enjoyed financial gains from not only the police headquarters, the army, the defense ministry but also going one step further from Bhutanese King, Subhash Ghising, an Indian leader of Nepali origin, Pawan Chamling, the current chief minister of Sikkim and more so from the Kathmandu based Embassy of Indian republic-Nepal's self-proclaimed "big-brother" which she is not by any standards.
Seeking financial gains from the Bhutanese monarch or for that matter the Indian embassy, as the academician Dr. Surendra K.C(associated with the TU History Department) as against what? This is the million-dollar question indeed.
I can't imagine who could have been those very exclusive "Nepali nationals" who have had direct approach to the Bhutanese monarch and why the monarch should have sympathized with the said Nepali national? As against what? One plausible and logical answer to this question comes to my mind that this very special scribe must have been "passing on governmental secrets" as regards the refugee issue charted at the Shital Nivas. If not then what else could have been the reason? Was it a free lunch?
Then comes the news hackers' association with the Indian embassy as so eloquently described by historical Dr. Surendra K.C. If his assertions were a correct one then we have abundant reasons to believe that the Lainchour Palace that is all pervasive in the Nepali politics more than Nepali politicians then what could be safely believed that the said mission must have been depuited certain select "informers" in the professions like, for example, media academia and the politics understandably.
Is it not the time to ascertain as to which were these gentlemen at the pay-roll of the mission as so forcefully admitted by the noted historian of the country.
Seeking monetary favors from institutions that were owned by Nepal government were not that bad as compared to what our friends scattered in various disciplines were getting from dirty diplomatic missions whose sole agenda is to destabilize Nepal, weaken its army and politics as well in order to disintegrate this country ultimately.
Such designs are dangerous. More dangerous and treacherous are the designs of our own national who in lieu of some financial or material gains have been selling the "secrets" of their own motherland.
The lust for power and the greed for money must have made the emergence of several "quislings" and Lendup Dorjes' in Nepal.
Will some independent secret agency dare to penetrate into what Dr. K.C has revelaed in one of the Nepali papers only the other day.
We deserve the right to know as to who is traitor around us? Who is selling his own motherland?
Beware of such pseudo men who could pose more catholic that the pope itself.
