Prachanda's first duty should be to expose all the past scams!

Some are democrats only. Some pose to be more democratic that the widely acclaimed democrats. A different set is in place in the Nepali stage, which claims itself more democratic that the legendary Abraham Lincoln. This might appear absurd but in effect this comes out to be true in case of Nepal. We have a habit of claiming even the absurd caring little as to how others evaluate us or for that matter our performances.

This is not all. There appears to be a race on how to excel the other in the domain of the media. The set which till the other day remained united in order to bring about a collapse of the erstwhile regime now are at their daggers drawn and one fine morning if we the rest of the media men listen that the both fighting set have themselves virtually killed each other would be no wonder.

The fight is thus on in between the two sets in order to establish itself as the number one LOKTANTRIK, a word that was unknown to the Nepalese until a few months back. We presume that the borrowed word means greater democracy which further means that the new system were the panacea of all the ailments that the nation have had been confronting the nation in the recent decades that passed by.

When all agree then we don't feel that any thing is left for us to disagree and debate over unnecessarily and hence we accept it in its totality and that too unconditionally considering that the new system that is all set to dawn on the Nepali sky within a year or so guaranteed a secured and peaceful lives for its citizens and provided due attention to the longstanding but yet undressed grievances of all those who had been so far neglected and rejected by the Democratic system. But then yet we want to remind the new managers of the nation who are all prepared to the Nepalese power corridors in a months time must not repeat the same blunders as their predecessors did in the name of democratic system.

The system was not bad in itself. Instead, the implementation part was sadly very poor which added strength to the just concluded movement. Thus what becomes important is not the system but those who have been told to steer the nation or who are entrusted to take the driver's seat should possess dedication and a sense of duty towards the people. That's all. Give it any name, a system remains in a name only. However, what matters is how the system delivers through the kind courtesies of its managers.

Let's hope that Comrade Prachanda will take care of the past anomalies that crept into the body politic which facilitated the premature funeral of a system that is still considered as to have been one of the best system prevailing in today's world. We presume that the day Prachanda comes to power he will dig out the issues that remained neglected by the erstwhile system and will address all those issues that demanded his fresh concerns and deliverance.

It could also be presumed that Prachanda upon assuming the seat of the Co-deputy prime minister, as he is rumored to be holding the said post a month later, will also establish a separate cell to look into the matters of corruption and abuse of state authorities by the leaders of the last regime and put emphasis in bringing the culprits, so far who have escaped the wrath of the laws of the land for their abuses, to book. Prachanda perhaps knows that Nepal is a land that is beset with so many scams, for example, the Lauda air, Southwest China airlines, and the Melamchi scams and so many other countless scandals. It is now Prachanda's turn and his party's to act and that too fast. He and his party is supposed to expose all the names of the leaders/politicians and also of the media men who have acted against their own State in lieu of some material or financial gains from here and there mostly who were and are still in the pay-roll of the all pervasive and powerful Lainchour premises. It is also hoped that Prachanda and his party will provide due attention to all those unequal treaties and agreements to which they themselves have been championing, would be made null and void through the arrangement of a sort of referendum or what ever mode is found suitable by them.

We have every right to presume that a personality of Prchanda's stature who knows where and how India screws Nepal will henceforth do away with yielding to Indian hegemonic demands from this country as and when we are in trouble. Prachanda must be aware that the freshly concluded Koirala's four day long trip to New Delhi must not have left Nepal unscathed. What in effect Koirala and his team surrendered to India this time must be explored and investigated. It is presumed that the Maoists who have a wide network in Delhi's power corridors can easily locate or for that matter get the details of any tacit understanding that might have been reached in Delhi in between Nepal and India. What was or is that has got to be understood at the earliest. Or else the euphoria and the enthusiasm, which the people have already exhibited for Prachanda's political personality of late, will vanish soon in the ethereal medium much the same way the today's UML leaders have had during the post 1990 period more so after the second general elections. The sharpness with which the UML leaders then exhibited for themselves all went to the dogs when they began to rush to Delhi in order to seek blessings to bounce to power in Nepal's Sigh Durbar. Thus began the fall of the UML, whose political credentials in the eyes of the people is perhaps at its lowest ebb around this time. However, since Prachanda is not what Madhav Nepal is, let's hope that Prachanda will take care of people's sentiments. That's all.
