Transition:

RE-APPOINTED: Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala as the Prime Minister of the interim government by the legislative-parliament, unanimously, as per the Article 38 (1) of the interim constitution. This is the sixth time Koirala has been appointed Prime Minister of Nepal.

CONSTITUTED: A 22-member Council of Ministers under the leadership of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.

LEFT: Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, leading a 30-member Nepali delegation, for New Delhi, India, to attend the 14 th Summit of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). His entourage includes Foreign Minister Sahana Pradhan, Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, NC MP Sujata Koirala and NC leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala.

ENTRUSTED: In his absence, Prime Minister Koirala has entrusted responsibilities of Prime Minister’s Office, as well as those of Foreign Minister’s Office to Peace and Reconstruction Minister Ram Chandra Poudel.
