CONFERRED: Bijnan Acharya, a USAID/Nepal specialist, with the prestigious Thomas Jefferson Star Award for Foreign Service, posthumously, by t he US government. Dr. Acharya died – along with 24 other persons - in the helicopter crash in Taplejung on September 23. The award is the highest honor given by the State Department to an employee killed in the line of duty.
