In lighter vein

New laws must guarantee chukka jams and demonstrations

No body has so far asked me as to which things I like most or for that matter what were the activities that were of prime interest to me if I were allowed to do so.

As a human being I too possess some inner desires the fulfillment of which would please me. I suppose every individual possess some wishes that he or she would see to come to true in their life time.

So if one would ask me as to which desires were overwhelmingly present in my mind and what I would prefer at the first place? My humble answer would be the “institutionalization of Bundhs, Chukka Jams and violent demonstrations” thorough the kind courtesy of the national laws and regulations.

I need the permanence of such happenings as these events give me immense pleasure for such events provide me with enough time to read, write, make flimsy gossips and encourage the agitators to become more violent so that a scene is created which facilitates irrelevant political debates.

I like debates and discussions that are politically motivated. I listen to them in order to ascertain as to which side taking part in such a debate was attached to which political party or parties.

As a media man, I also enjoy when my professional colleagues come to the streets demanding “republican order” in the country. Kudos to my professional colleagues that they instead of talking about the overall welfare of the media as a profession talk on the political lines.

This is a new phenomenon in Nepal and I like such phenomenon that perhaps is a rare commodity in other parts of the world.

Similarly, I get thrilled when I learn that some of my professional colleagues squeeze the businessmen in order to pocket money under one pretext or the other. Such phenomenon could be rare for some one but for us in Nepal these traits are common. However, the clandestine deals are made in such a manner that no body gets an inkling of what happened in between the squeezer and the squeezed ones.

I like the practices of the Bundhs, extortions and intimidations which have fortunately become an endless phenomenon in my own country. This is good because such happening would surely hasten the speed of Nepal being declared a failed state. Thanks that our immediate neighbors have been helping us in our great patriotic moves.

I am told that the donor community is also enjoying the bundhs and chukka jams in Nepal. It is so because, I am reminded, they also get enough time to ponder over the fate of this country and accordingly find some more time to write their country reports.

All in all, I have had good time in the recent months. I am sure the agitators, demonstrators and the intimidators in the future as well will do their best to make me and others who also subscribe to my brilliant ideas also to feel good.

After all life which is precious must be enjoyed to the hilt.

The demonstrations, agitation, chukka jams must continue. These acts must be brought under the purview of law that guaranteed its continuation. This will surely add to the dynamism of the Nepali society that is generally taken by outsiders as a “smiling nation”. Finally the institutionalization of these uncommon traits will add strength to comrade Prachanda’s enlightened vision of making Nepal at par with the Swiss nation within a decade or so as he claimed not so in the distant past. To some extent, my observations come closer to Prachanda’s vision. It would be in Prachanda’s polityical interest if he elevates my ranks to that of a Maoist parliamentarian.
