Talks on Dalits held

KATHMANDU, Dec 17 - A one-day interaction workshop for Dalit organisations came to the conclusion that more training need assessments are necessary for the Dalit groups for future activities.

The workshop organised by the Rural Development Center Working for Dalit, a Pokhara based organisation of the United Mission to Nepal, UMN, was attended by 24 members of 12 different Dalit organisations.

Tirtha Barna, representative of Dalit NGO Fedaration said,” the actual Dalit groups in the community often remain untouched by the activities designed for them.” He said they could be reached through Dalit groups in the community.Some training needs of the organisations identified during the workshop were upgrading training and marketing skills.
