Bus driver takes 35kg marijuana to police station

By a Post Reporter

HETAUDA, April 10 - Plans of four marijuana dealers went astray when a bus driver decided to drop the contraband at a police station instead, frustrating the drug peddlers who had threatened the driver for his life.

All four left the bus at Jyamire, Manhara VDC, which lies in the middle of the Hetauda-Narayanghat Road and the bus driver Ram Bahadur Shrestha at gunpoint early this morning to deliver 35 kg of marijuana to Amlekhgunj. All four are at large and their identities remain unknown.

Instead of taking the bus to the intended place, Shrestha took it to the District Police Office, according to Police Inspector Madhu Sudan Luintel.

Shrestha had been warned that he would not be allowed to ply the route if he failed to oblige them, Shrestha told the District Police Office.

Shrestha was asked to stop at Jyamire where the peddlers had pointed a gun at him.
