B Liscence Soccer Coaching Course

KATHMANDU, Dec 4- B Liscence Soccer Coaching Course entered its fourth day today. The program organized by Ganesh Thapa lead ANFA has drawn twenty players from 12 district who are taking part in the coaching. Coach M Karatu of Malaysia who is giving liscence training here

said "I’m here to produce good coaches," adding that AFC has a system for Asian countries who do not have systems on their own and Nepal is one such country which need a good coaching system in the country beginning from the school level. M.Karatu is sent by AFC.

Karatu also pointed out the role of clubs and coach when he said "We must have qualified coaches to be recognized at International

soccer game," citing an example that Malaysia has one of the successful soccer only because we have qualified coaches.

"These boys are taking (B) Liscence Coaching, the first of its kind in Nepal," said Stephen Constantine, National Team Coach for Nepal who was evaluating the coaching. When asked about the relevance of liscence coaching, he said, "Part of developing football is coach education and national league," adding that there is no point to have five or ten youth academy if we don’t have qualifying coaches.

When asked about the present situation confronting ANFA, he said "In the FIFA regulations, they said that you have to be a democratically elected body. In the end Nepali football will lose, that is the bottom line," he said refusing to comment further.
