Handicrafts on display

KATHMADU, Dec 12 - Handicrafts of the Kathmanmdu Valley and the Terai produced by women entrepreneurs are in show from Monday at Alliance Francaise for ten days to come.

Inaugurating the programme, chairman of Nepal Handicrafts Association Indra Bahadur Shakya said handicrafts are the commodities which can take the name of the country to the world. "Only last year, Nepal exported objects of handicraft to France that worth around Rs 270 million," he said.

Paintings of Mithila style, writing pads, book marks are the things produced by Janakpur Handicraft Centre. Likewise, Mana-Manish Dolls Industry brought traditional stuffed dolls portraying human figure in traditional attire.
